Leonardo Academy, The Sustainability Experts™ Announces Support for WELL Building Certification Program
Organization Staff now WELL Accredited Professionals
MADISON, Wis. October 27, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Leonardo Academy president Michael Arny announced today Leonardo Academy’s support for The WELL Building StandardTM (WELL). This certification program addresses actions by building owners that benefit the health, wellbeing and productivity of building occupants.
Their demonstrated support is just the latest step in Leonardo Academy’s active history of commitment to the sustainable building and LEED certification industry. The group has been involved in the development of LEED and has provided green building services since 1998 and is now also providing WELL building implementation and certification services.
Both Leonardo Academy’s President Michael Arny and Senior Project Manager Bill Rattunde have earned the WELL Accredited Professional (WELL APTM) credential through the International WELL Building InstituteTM (IWBITM), placing them among a group of leading professionals who are dedicated to supporting human health and wellbeing in the built environment. The WELL AP credential is the new, leading credential signifying advanced knowledge of and specialization in the WELL Building StandardTM.
“What is really exciting about the WELL building certification program,” Michael Arny said, “is that it addresses the most important resource in the building: the occupants. In an office building for example, more that 90 percent of the cost of operating the building is the cost of salaries and benefits for the building occupants. So any impact that WELL has on the health, wellbeing and productivity of building occupants has a significant benefit for the bottom line.”
The WELL Building Standard is the first building standard to focus exclusively on the health and wellness of the people in buildings. WELL is an evidence and performance-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring features that impact human health and well-being in the built environment, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.
