Good and Growing Middle-Skill Jobs Exclude Women, New Report Shows

Women hold only a third of positions in growing middle-skill jobs that pay at least $35,000 or as much as $102,000 per year, according to a new report by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR). These middle-skill jobs, which require a high school education but not a college degree, pay a living wage and can serve as a stepping stone to a higher-paying career for women workers, who now serve as the sole or co-breadwinner in half of American families.

A number of years ago, CSRHub showed that its measures of corporate sustainability correlate with the level of development of countries. For that study, we used the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI). We found a correlation of 28% for 27 developed countries, but poor correlation with human conditions in less developed countries.

The Importance of the Circular Economy to Business Expected to Double in Next Two Years, According to New Research by UPS and Greenbiz Group

Nearly nine out of 10 (86 percent) of sustainability executives surveyed believe that circular economy will be important to their business two years from now, nearly double from two years ago when just 47 percent felt them important, according to findings of the 2016 UPS/GreenBiz Circular Economy Research Study released today. Respondents project the biggest growth in the adoption of the circular economy model will come from the technology sector, especially electronics such as computers and cell phones, as take-back systems and product reuse are most easily integrated in those models.
