After several tornadoes hit Northwest Arkansas in late May, leaders at our Glad plant in Rogers were forced to spring into action to keep our people safe and then work to restore operations after the facility was hit directly by the storm.

Although he’s only in kindergarten, Glen already knows that he wants to be a garbage man when he grows up. The Williams County Landfill, operated by Republic Services, hosted a tour this fall for the St. Patrick’s Catholic School First Lego League of Bryan, Ohio. The First Lego League is an international program created to introduce children to science and technology. This year’s FLL challenge is the Trash Trek Challenge. The children are challenged to explore one piece of trash from start to finish. They are then asked to identify a problem in the way the trash is handled, and then come up with a solution.
