The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in the EU reforms and significantly expands the reporting obligations of companies. It extends the reporting requirements and makes it compulsory for big to small and medium-sized enterprises based on a harmonized reporting.
In recognition of its innovative use of recycled plastic, and its product design centered on recycling, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) names Nestlé Waters North America as its 2019 Design for Recycling® (DFR) Award winner. The DFR Award is ISRI’s most prestigious award given annually to the most innovative contribution to products designed with recycling in mind. Nestlé Waters has received the award specifically for the design of its Nestlé® Pure Life® 700ml bottle made from 100 percent recycled PET plastic (rPET).
The new wind farm will be located near Milligan, Nebraska. Construction is expected to be completed in 2020. The farm will be capable of 74 MW of power and an estimated 349,000 MWh of electricity each year. Hormel Foods partnered with Kinect Energy Group to assess the project and negotiate the agreement. In addition to this agreement, Hormel Foods also supports the renewable energy markets by subscribing to community solar gardens at five manufacturing locations, including a co-sponsorship with Westar Energy for its first community solar garden near Wichita, Kan., where the company manufactures most of its Hormel® Natural Choice® bacon products.
Bayer brought together global thought leaders in beef cattle health and management to share the latest in research and innovation at its 2nd International Beef Symposium in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil from 31st March to 2nd April.
More than 220 participating cattle veterinarians and producers from 14 countries had access to the latest in research and knowledge, and engaged in discussions with global experts. The three-day symposium featured a curated program encompassing scientific presentations, expert panel discussions and a day on a beef cattle farm for hands-on demonstrations and application of science in practice.

DSM has committed to reducing 30% of its greenhouse gas emissions from direct production and purchased energy in absolute terms by 2030 compared to 2016. DSM will decouple emissions from its growth through energy efficiency measures and sourcing more renewable electricity. As a complementary target, DSM will be purchasing 75% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030, with 41% already being renewable in 2018. On top of this, DSM applies an internal carbon price of €50 per ton of CO2 to further guide its investments and operational decisions towards low carbon operations.
Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE: RSG) today celebrated the opening of its new “Next-Gen” recycling facility and learning center in Plano, Texas. The 77,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility serves more than 510,000 residents and 2,500 commercial customers throughout the Metroplex – including Plano, Richardson and other neighboring cities.
