Samsung and U.S. Government Officials Celebrate Students, Winners of National STEM Competition

A solar-powered charging station for electric cars, a smartwatch app for pedestrian safety and prosthetic devices for veterans were among the winning projects of this year’s Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. Students from the public schools named National Winners earlier this month were honored at an annual awards luncheon attended by congressional leaders.

Students Show Off Their Coding Know-How At Samsung Developer Conference

The students, chosen from the five winners of the 2015 Samsung Mobile App Academy, made apps to address issues in their local communities. Republic Commemorates Earth Day in Contra Costa County with Expansion of Compressed Natural Gas-Powered Fleet

Republic Services announced today the addition of 40 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) solid waste collection trucks serving customers in Central Contra Costa County. The new CNG trucks replace older diesel-powered collection trucks, and bring the total number of natural gas vehicles operated by Republic in Contra Costa County to 123.
