Caterpillar Inc. published its annual Sustainability Report today, detailing the progress made in 2015 despite challenging economic conditions. Recognizing Caterpillar’s 90-year history as a global leader of sustainable progress, the report – titled “What We’ve Built. What We’re Solving.” – highlights the company’s aggressive efforts to manage through a challenging business cycle by focusing on cost management and innovative, durable products that help solve some of the world’s toughest challenges associated with energy, water, land and climate.

Two New Reports Released on the Current State of US Plastics Recycling

Two reports were recently released at the 2016 Plastics Recycling Council detailing the progress made towards increased plastics recycling in the United States. One report looks specifically at non-bottle rigid plastics, and the other focuses on plastic bags and film. Both reports were prepared by Moore Recycling Associates and were funded by the American Chemistry Council.

Certifying Sustainability and Transparency in the Apparel Industry

On February 5th, Bard MBA in Sustainability spoke with Eric Henry, President of TS Designs. TS offers the most sustainable t-shirts and printing options on the planet. They use organic cotton, recycled materials and even an organic “dirt to shirt” grown and made in North Carolina shirts and use water based inks. They also use on site solar, wind and compost power to power much of their facilities.
