STAR India Launches ‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch,’ a New Social Impact TV Series Hosted by Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan

Through a groundbreaking partnership with TED, the nonprofit dedicated to sharing talks from the world’s leading thinkers, 21st Century Fox’s STAR India has announced its latest pro-social television series, TED Talks India: Nayi Soch (“New Thinking”). The show will feature speakers presenting big ideas in Hindi in TED’s signature format, with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan serving as the host. The series marks the first time TED will collaborate with a major network and star to produce a TV series featuring original TED Talks in a language other than English.

Canine Partners for Life (CPL) trains and places certified service dogs with persons who have physical disabilities, mobility impairments, and seizure and cardiac disorders, to increase their independence and quality of life. But CPL has a problem – a good problem. CPL has more puppies than ever, which is good because those puppies will eventually grow up and be trained to help individuals who rely on their companionship for increased independence and quality of life. But before they get to that point, these puppies need homes where volunteers will provide basic training. That’s where you come in!

Sodexo Hosts Service Event Marking the Expansion of Leadership Montgomery to Include the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County

Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life services, hosted executives, members and graduates of Leadership Montgomery for a reception and service event today benefiting Manna Food Center’s Smart Sacks program. Held at Sodexo’s corporate headquarters for North America in Gaithersburg, Md., the event highlighted expanded programming offered by Leadership Montgomery following its expansion last month to include the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) of Montgomery County. Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin and Montgomery County Councilmember Sidney Katz were also in attendance to support the service activity, which benefits students at Washington Grove Elementary School.

Sodexo Provides 4,000 Meals to Support Veterans at Arizona StandDown Event

Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life services, partnered with Arizona StandDown on February 9 and 10, to provide 4,000 meals and employment services to more than 2,000 veterans attending the annual outreach event at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, Arizona. Over 40 volunteers representing five Sodexo segments including government services, healthcare, schools, universities, and corporate services, hosted breakfast and lunch for the veterans and provided an employment resources table to help the veterans find job opportunities.
