UPS (NYSE: UPS) announced today that Tamara Barker has been named the company’s new Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and Vice President of Environmental Affairs, effective immediately. Barker will succeed Rhonda Clark, a 26-year UPS veteran, who has been named Vice President of Corporate Plant Engineering for UPS.

The Arbor Day Foundation is planting a half million trees in our nation’s forests by the end of spring of 2016 thanks to the continued support of BJ’s Wholesale Club and BJ’s Charitable Foundation. Republic Services announced today the addition of four Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) solid waste collection trucks to its fleet serving customers throughout metropolitan St. Louis. The CNG trucks replace older diesel-powered trucks, and bring the total number of natural gas vehicles operated by Republic in metropolitan St. Louis to 107.
2015 was a pivotal year for global sustainability. In September, the leaders of 193 United Nations (UN) Member States adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs, comprised of a set of 169 targets, are the heir to Millennium Development Goals and represent a shared vision for what needs to be achieved by 2030 to secure a sustainable future.
